Greenland style paddles

We do not mass produce paddles, thus each paddle we make is unique. ( We do have paddles in stock, check our current stock list). We use two basic lamination styles for our paddles a horizontal lamination style (below on the left ) and a vertical lamination style ( below on the right). With each lamination style a minimum of 3 laminates are used. This can range up to 11 laminate layers or more based on the paddle style and the  response, feel and the appearance that you desire.

Prices starting as low as $160.00 (USD)

The Traditional Greenland paddle is the work horse for the traditional kayaker. The traditional paddle was developed over many generations and under went many changes. As the ancient people of the north migrated from Siberia across the land bridge to Alaska and eventually across the arctic to Greenland the design of their boats and paddles changed to accommodate the conditions and usage of each new area inhabited.

While each hunters paddle was unique to his needs and the materials available to him , the basic characteristics that we now recognize as standard in a traditional paddle emerged. The narrow blade, the oval to diamond shape of the blades cross section and, reinforced tips and blade edges. The time tested design of a traditional Greenland paddle is easy and efficient to use. Give one a try.
